Find Hope in a relationship with Jesus
It is important to know what Jesus desires of us. First, He desires that we be honest with Him. All of us have sinned against God. That’s a fact regardless of how good a person we’ve tried to be. So, He asks us to take responsibility for our sin. When we admit our sins to Him, He promises to forgive us and never hold them against us again. What a relief! God loves us so much that He had Jesus die on a cross for our forgiveness. What an awesome God!
Secondly, Jesus wants us to believe in Him. This is called faith. Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins and was raised from the dead to set you free? That is the question of faith. But, faith is more than just a mental decision. For, Jesus desires that we show Him our faith by the way in which we live the rest of our life. Faith is expressed through our loving obedience to everything He commands in the Bible. Also, faith is expressed through our love of people.
Finally, Jesus desires you to become a part of His family called the church. All of us need help and encouragement to grow in our faith. So, God has created something called the church to bring us together to enjoy worshipping, learning, serving, sharing and fellowshipping together. Without the church, we are like an orphan that is left to fend for himself or herself. Talk to Jesus right now honestly about your sins; place your faith in His forgiveness and commit to being a faithful part of His church. This is the beginning of a relationship with Jesus and His family, a place to love and be loved.
